Victor, actually James was referring specifically to the initiation of a call without ever touch the device. With the included Voice Speed Dial application you just tap the main button on your BT headset and then speak the command. I am pretty sure you can't press a button on your BT headset and then speak the command with Microsoft Voice Command, right? I think once you press a hardware button on the device to launch Voice Command you can then control it via BT, but you just can't start it that way.

Wes, you should have Microsoft's Voice Command 1.6 on your WM6 Dash. The Voice Speed dial application is loaded by HTC on some of their devices, but the Dash uses Microsoft's software.

i was surprised to hear that james and matt were unable to initiate calls on their advantages via bluetooth using voice command 6. i do it all the time with my qtek 9100. in fact, i think matt might have forgotten about this tip: http://www.geek.com/voice-control-via-bluetooth-headset-on-htc-wizard/

Hey guys! I've listening to MoTR for ages and this is the first time I post a comment :)

My name is Beatriz Kunze, I'm from Brazil and also have a mobile blog, Garota Sem Fio ("Wireless Girl" in Portuguese), www.odontopalm.com.br/gsf.

I love mobile tech and I am also a mobile working, providing dental home care for elderly and handicapped. So, mobile tech for me is more than a passion, it's the soul of my work! And my weblog is all made of tips for mobile heavy-users as myself.

I was used to download the MoTR episodes in my notebook via iTunes and sync to my nano, but now I've been travelling a lot and downloading podcasts in my HTC Touch through Egress. Sometimes using a wi-fi hotspot in airports and cafes, but in a daily basis, from my unlimited GPRS / EDGE data plan.

I'd like to ask you for a lower-quality version of MoTR, sized for low-speed users like me. As mobile addicts, you must know how painful it is to download a 30MB sized file from EDGE networks... ;)

And keep the good job, I love you all!

I have been a listener for sometime and enjoy your podcast. I have a t-mobile dash running WM6 and you spoke of something called "voice tags" or Voice Speed dial. I have tried to find anything related to the Dash (add-on software) but can't find what you were talking about. Can you please direct me in the right direction.

Great job in educating the general public on the features of the HTC Advantage. When I was listening to the podcast, and you were talking about the Microsoft Voice Command to control your phone, I couldn't help but write to tell you about something I have been using for a while that has now become an indispensable tool and you may find it extremely useful as well. Especially for those who already have the iPhone or AT&T service. There's a feature you can add to your service called Enhanced Voice Mail/Command that allows you to the following: Sync your outlook contacts to the AT&T server instantly. After that, you can give voice commands to your phone so you can dial any number listed in your contacts regardless of how many you have. Voice recognition is almost flawless.

But just in case you're asking yourself, why would I pay for something I can already do for free in my phone settings? The answer is simple: There's no need to train your device... EVER! In addition, you can use voice command with any phone that has your AT&T service, since the contacts are uploaded to their server, and not your phone memory or SIM. Also, you can enter manually a name either in Outlook or in the AT&T website, and it's automatically ready to be used with voice command since you can set it up to be constantly synchronizing. But that's not all. You can control several features for your internet as well and have your phone read the contents of weather, news, entertainment or any of a number of pre-determined websites, all from your Bluetooth, and never having to lay a finger in your device. It's an amazing piece of software and having availability to it allows you to consider using an UMPC as your full time mobile phone. Specially if your Bluetooth has caller ID features or Whisper technology. Hope this helps.
