We are thrilled to report that MobileTechRoundup (MoTR) is a finalist in the Best Mobile Podcast category of the Podcast Awards! The Podcast Awards are the biggest award competition honoring podcasts in a lot of different categories and we thank them for putting on such an awesome competition. They go out of their way to put on a top-notch competition and we are honored that our listeners nominated our show in such numbers to put us in the top 5 finalists in this category that represents hundreds (if not thousands) of podcasts. Voting begins at midnight on July 28th and runs through August 11th so get your votes in and see if we can get MoTR the top dog spot in the Best Mobile Podcast category. Kevin, Matt and I put a lot of work and love into producing the show and it is such a validation for all we do to make the finalist list.

  • Guys love the show but I was kind of shocked you give no credit to Dave Cicone who was on 50 plus shows? Is that reallly the right message for an award of achievement for this year?

  • Congrats guys on the nomination. I personally think a kudo also should go out to David Ciccone (original cohost).. He was part of the show and a reason why I also voted for Mobile Tech Roundup.

    Keep up the good work!

  • Guys my comment for some reason got deleted..Is something wrong here?

Big fan on Motr and I am very happy you guys got the nomination. I too voted for Motr.. One mis-sight I think you guys also should give some credit to David Ciccone (previous Cohost)..

His site directed me here and got me into the show.. So I hope you three agree..

  • Thanks to all for the kudos and support! We do appreciate the contributions that Dave provided while he was with the show and we know he will continue his success with everything he does.

  • James & Kevin,

I think it is a sad commentary that you had to be shamed into acknowledging Dave’s contribution to the Podcast. I don’t know what happened with your relationship, and frankly I don’t care. Regardless of what your differences were, right wrong or indifferent, Dave did make some great contributions through 50 shows while also promoting MOTR extensively on his site and Podcasts. Both of these actions drove a considerable amount of traffic to MOTR and helped to get the MOTR Podcast established
    .
I have worked in the corporate world for over 20 years and I would never think to not acknowledge a member of my staffs contributions. The professional and courteous thing to do would have been to thank him for his role in making the Podcast a success and then continue on with the task at hand. By taking the route you chose it casts dispersions on your character and professionalism.

I was under the distinct impression that we all got into this as a labor of love. We built these communities to help others and share our passion for technology. Like any group or family we all have our disagreements but I would have thought that as professionals we could rise above that and acknowledge and respect each other regardless of our differences.

    Regards,

    Steve

  • All, I was notified of our finalist position yesterday morning. It was quite unexpected and I posted this announcement from a client’s office in less than 5 minutes. In hindsight I should have mentioned Dave and wish to acknowledge his contributions to MoTR at this time. Nothing nefarious about this but it seems everyone on the Internet is quick to try to make things like this seem so.

  • Sour Grapes? A guy bails on this show to concentrate on his own and then complains about not being a part of it now? Sounds like sour grapes. Kevin is the glue that makes this podcast flow. James is great too. Matt Miller was a good addition to the show too.

Congrats and don’t let these comments hurt your morale.

  • Since I listen to both of the podcasts I can say thismuch. I cant believe that Dave can go this low as to complain about this. This cheapens the accomplishment of mobility Today’s podcast making it too. I can’t believe how unprofessional it is for a Microsoft MVP to come here and participate in this call for credit. In fact, I didn’t see the guy I miss hearing on Mobility Today’s podcast, Jack Cook, mentioned on Dave’s announcement.

I hope that Matt, Keven, and James delete all these comments eventually since they really put a black eye on the accomplishment of both of the podcasts. Both sets of people should be proud, but I am shocked that someone would come over trying to get praise for something they are not part of.

Good luck to MoTR and Mobility Today in the voting, but these comments here have sealed my voting choice.

Thanks to Matt, James, and Keven for being professionals.

  • Good job guys. You have my support and respect. With juggling family, job, and an obsessive hobby of running Aximsite/Mobilitysite as well as others, I realize how much time is put into your podcasts and how difficult it is to stay focused and committed.

I am happy to see my buddy Matt join you guys. It makes the show even better. I will throw all the support of my sites your direction. (although my Aximsite people are calling rigged since Mobility Guys didn’t get nominated…lol)

    Good Luck!

  • Congrats guys!

    BTW,

Did you get the e-mail I sent you guys? It was about 2 weeks or so ago..

  • Virgil, your e-mail questions along with our answers are in show #59. Stay tuned, listen in and thanks for the question & your support! 🙂
