Like James, I'm in Houston and a Verizon customer (at least I presume he's switching to Verizon since his Sprint EV-DO phone is apparently good only as a boat anchor). I got EV-DO last month, and I agree that it can be a revelation. However, I've been disappointed with the transfer speed. I occasionally see DL bursts of 1.5 mB/s, but typical is 150 kB/s.
