For playing iTunes files (non-DRM .m4a or m4b files, or .aac files) on a Pocket PC I use the TCPMP freeware program (tcpmp.corecodec.org/about) with the .aac plug-in (www.rarewares.org/aac.html).

The iPod is a great product, I do not have one nor do I like the status symbol atmosphere that go along with them, but I do agree they have got a strong foothold on the market. The Dell DJ, which were rebranded Creative machines, was no slouch. I have had the 20g Gen 1 since before they were released and still use it everyday. I have a couple of the other models, so Kevin, you are not alone.
